The festive season kicks off early in Groningen with the Swedish Christmas Market 2025! On the weekend of 13 and 14 December, from 10:00 to 17:00, you’ll be wrapped in that warm Scandinavian Christmas feeling at the cosiest indoor market in the north. The market takes place at Suikerlaan 10, in the former Sugar Factory – a raw, industrial spot full of character and history. Think fairy lights glittering against brick walls, the scent of cinnamon buns in the air, and the sound of Swedish Christmas music echoing through the halls.

The market is easy to reach by bike or public transport. Parking is limited (this is Groningen, after all), so hop on your bike or enjoy a winter walk to the venue.

Special Swedish shopping addresses

Forget standard Christmas stalls – here you’ll find unique items with a story. From handmade gifts and Scandinavian design to natural products, everything is crafted with care and presented with passion. It’s the perfect place to find original Christmas presents that don’t scream “last-minute panic buy.”
