Are you heading north by train this spring? Then take note: Groningen station will be partially or completely closed until 12 July because of a major renovation. Think: new tunnel, shifting tracks and the bus station moving. Nice for later, but now mainly: rerouting and spotting express buses.

When will there be no trains?

  • 10 May to 12 July: no trains between Groningen and Europapark.
  • 10 to 12 May 14 June to 12 July: Groningen station completely closed.

Which buses will be running?

Express and stop buses will be used between:

  • Groningen – Europapark
  • Groningen – Zuidhorn
  • Groningen – Delfzijl
  • Groningen – Eemshaven
  • Europapark – Assen, Veendam, Bad Nieuweschans

Extra handy: 300 extra OV bikes at Europapark and you can also just walk (± 20 minutes).

Plan smart
Check 9292 or NS for up-to-date routes, account for delays, and turn on that noise cancelling if you’re on the express bus with schoolchildren and people-with-loud-phone-talk.

Still want to go to the Wadden, a festival or the woods? Fine plan – but plan it just a little differently.
