Get ready for 11 days of fun, excitement and nostalgia during the annual Meikermis in the heart of Groningen. As the largest, highest and most affordable fair in the North of the Netherlands, this event transforms the city centre into a colourful playground for all ages.
Spread across the Grote Markt, Vismarkt, and the Ossenmarkt, the fair offers a vibrant mix of modern thrill rides, fun games, food stalls and classic carousels. Whether you’re looking for an adrenaline rush or a relaxed family outing, there’s something for everyone. On the Ossenmarkt, you’ll find the nostalgic fair, where rides from decades past bring back memories — and all for just € 1,50 per ride.
Affordable fun
The Meikermis is known for its fair prices. On the Grote Markt and Vismarkt, children’s rides cost a maximum of € 2,50, bigger thrill rides up to € 3,00. If you spend € 5,- or more at the Groningen street market in early May, you’ll receive a Kermiseuro — a € 1,- voucher valid on any ride at the fair.
